Radiologic Technology Schools in Missouri

There are a variety of options in Missouri for education in radiology technology, including certificate programs, associate's degree programs and a bachelor's degree program. Successful completion of any of the following programs provides eligibility to sit for the national certification examination to become a registered radiologic technologist.

    • The 23 month long, full-time radiology technology program at Hillyard Technical Center starts each June. The selective admissions process includes an application packet, a pre-entrance exam, an interview and successful completion of general education courses. The program provides both classroom and clinical practice and leads to a certificate of completion.

    Nichols Career Center

    • Nichols Career Center, associated with the Jefferson County Public School system, offers a 24 month, full-time certificate program in radiology technology that begins in August. Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED in addition to completing pre-requisite general education classes.

    Metropolitan Community College

    • The 24 month radiology technology program at Metropolitan Community College leads to an associate's degree in applied science in radiology technology. Students interested in the full-time program must complete pre-requisite coursework, submit and application, complete an interview and take an admissions exam. Radiology students are required to maintain CPR certification, pass a criminal background check, take a physical exam and provide proof of immunizations.

    Avila University

    • Students enrolled in the radiology program at Avila University begin core classes starting junior year. The four year program leads to a bachelor's degree in radiologic science. Admission for the full-time program at this private university requires 45 credit hours of requisite general education coursework, an essay about an observation in a radiology department, an interview and an application. Avila has a 100 percent job placement rate for successful graduates.

    Southeast Missouri Hospital's College of Nursing and Health Sciences

    • In addition to the application for the radiology technology program at Southeast Missouri Hospital's College of Nursing and Health Sciences, students must submit proof of physical exam, submit to a drug screening, provide proof of immunization and submit high school and college transcripts. The program is full-time, two years in length, and leads to an associate's degree in applied science.
