Foreign movies of all calibers have begun using Spanish speaking scenes in their cinematic sequences. Though these scenes are usually assisted by floating text at the bottom of the screen, in knowing Spanish, these floating words become unnecessary. Simply draw from your repertoire of Spanish words and you can finally turn those pesky subtitles off for good. With this, any movie with Spanish speakers is no longer a mystery to you.
The game Scrabble allows for words to be played from any language in most rule settings. If you know two languages, your chances of forming a word from those rare and obscure consonants increase exponentially. No longer are you stuck will the hum-drum "yes," now, you can lay down the Spanish equivalent "si." With two languages up your sleeves, you can bedazzle your friends and blow them away at Scrabble.
Many Spanish or Mexican cuisine restaurants use waitresses and waiters that only speak limited English. If you know their language, you can order your Jumbo Burrito in perfect Spanish to impress your friends, your date, or the waitress herself. If you are with a large group, simply order everyone's meal for them for added effect. This will also make taking down the order much simpler for the waitress or waiter doomed to wait on you.
In knowing a different language, you can talk about your friends right to their faces without them knowing what you are saying. You could be calling them beautiful or onions for all they know. If there was ever anything you wanted to say to a friend's face but couldn't muster the courage to do so, speaking Spanish is your instant pass to say whatever has been brewing inside you. However, make sure not to go overboard, you never know which of your friends might also speak Spanish.
