Business Finance Certification Courses

Business finance certification can be found in a number of different places, including online schools, community colleges or four-year colleges. But these certifications need to be accredited. There are four main business finance certifications available through these educational institutions, but not all of the organizations provide certification in all four categories.
  1. Financial Planning Certification

    • Financial planning is the most common certification found at educational facilities or institutions. Financial planners help individuals or corporation determine where to securely invest their money. Educational facilities prepare the students to pass the certification examination for Certified Financial Planners (CFP). Most states require that a financial planner be certified and registered. The business finance course covers the requirements and the examination procedures to ensure the student qualifies under state regulations for the examination.

    Chartered Fiancial Analyst

    • A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is a person authorized by the CFA Institute to review and analyze financial data, and make recommendations about financial matters to a corporation or business organization. This type of certification requires the individual pass three different examinations covering financial ethics, economics, financial security, management and accounting. Prerequisites for this certification program are requirements before being eligible to take the course. A person must have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of financial work experience.

    Finacial Risk Manager Certification

    • The Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certification courses train the business finance professional to pass the FRM certification examination in any state. The most prominent association examination is from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) . This association has its own training center and courses for financial professionals. The highlight of this type of certification course is the material that covers the functions of a risk manager in a corporation and identifies what risks the company is taking in each project endeavor. For example, a FRM for the banking industry will identify the risks of each prospective investment and track those investments, reporting the findings back to corporate.

    Associate Professional Risk Manager Certification

    • An associate Professional Risk Manager (PRM) also has certification courses available through different educational facilities. This type of business finance certification course is for individuals that work closely with a certified PRM or FRM, such as accountants, assistants, auditors, lawyers and financial technology professionals. The certification course covers risk management essentials, risk management identification, risk management examination and preparatory courses on how to pass the certification examination. Most associates that work with a PRM or FRM do not require certification, but this finance certification course prepares the individual for promotion to a higher position in the company and assists other professionals in understanding the risk management material and reports.
