Compose your rough draft. Remember the objective of a persuasive essay is to convince others to agree with facts, values and conclusions. Establish the facts of your argument first, then discuss any relevant values you have, prioritizing the importance of each argument from most important to least.
Edit your work, remembering that the first paragraph must clearly state the topic, your point of view and the three main points that you are going to tell the audience in the body of the paper. Conclude your arguments by reiterating your viewpoint and the relevant issues discussed in the paper.
Format your paper as you finish editing. List your name, your teacher's name, class and date at the top, and follow it by the title of the paper centered. Then format the rest of the paper where it is flush with the left margin, no indentions.
