The first Polish woman to win a Nobel Prize was
Maria Skłodowska-Curie, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in
1903 alongside her husband Pierre Curie and Henri Becquerel, for their research on radioactivity.
She also won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1911 for her work on isolating radium and polonium. This made her the first person and the only woman to win Nobel Prizes in two different scientific fields.
