The Telling:
Every year, on the day of Giver's birthday, a special celebration is held called the Telling. At the Telling, the oldest adult reads the previous Giver's memories to the community, and the current Giver shares his own. This allows for the transfer of knowledge and wisdom between generations.
The Ceremony of Twelve:
Another significant celebration is the Ceremony of Twelve. It takes place when a child turns twelve, which signifies their transition to adulthood. During this ceremony, the person receives their Life Assignment and is given their "place" in the community.
