* Philip Van Horn Weems (1759-1825) was a clergyman and writer. He's best known for his hagiographic biography of George Washington, which, while entertaining, was quite inaccurate and embellished with many anecdotes that were likely made up.
* He also wrote:
* "The Life of General Francis Marion" (1809)
* "The Life of William Penn" (1820)
* "The Life of Benjamin Franklin" (1829)
It's important to note that Weems's work, while popular in its time, is now considered unreliable as historical source material.
