She was a prominent abolitionist and author of "Uncle Tom's Cabin," but she also wrote extensively about the Lowell mills and the lives of the young women who worked there. Her book, "The Mayflower, and Other Sketches," features a chapter titled "The Lowell Offering" where she discusses the work of the Lowell mill girls.
Although she didn't directly work in the mills herself, Stowe visited them and interviewed the women, capturing their stories and struggles in her writing.
