Michael H. Brackett is a Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Monash University in Australia, and an emeritus Professor of Kinesiology at Penn State University. He is an associate editor of Emotion and Cognition and Emotion and a member of the editorial board for several other journals including Developmental Review, and Motivation and Emotion. He became known for studying the facial feedback hypothesis, which explores how the position of one's face can affect one's emotional feelings and perceptions of the emotion of others' facial expression.
