Kanhaiya Lal Pandey was an Indian poet and writer who wrote in Hindi and Urdu. He is considered one of the leading poets of the 20th century. Pandey was born in 1927 in the village of Pipariya, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. He began his career as a journalist, working for several newspapers and magazines. In 1951, he published his first book of poems, "Chandan Van." This was followed by a number of other collections of poetry, including "Naya Paan," "Jalti Hui Ek Aag," and "Savera." Pandey also wrote several short stories and novels, including "Aandhi," "Naya Andhera," and "Ek Ghar Mein."
Pandey's writing is characterized by its simplicity and directness. He often used everyday language and imagery to convey his message. His poetry often deals with themes of love, nature, and the human condition. Pandey's work has been translated into several languages, and he has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors. He died in 2010 at the age of 83.
