In-text citation. This is a shortened version of the full reference list entry, presented in parentheses within the text of your own writing. For a book, the in-text citation includes the author's name and page numbers. For a website, it includes the author or website name and page title, followed by the publication date or retrieval date.

Reference list entry. This is a full citation of the source, listed alphabetically at the end of your work. For a book, the reference list entry includes the author, book title, publisher, and publication date. For a website, it includes the author or website name, page title, website URL, and retrieval date.
