How does MLA state that bibliography should be arranged for a research paper?

The Modern Language Association style guide (MLA) requires that sources are listed in an alphabetical order in a Works Cited list by the authors' last names or the titles of the works themselves when there is no apparent author or editor. If one work refers to another, or there are multiple works by the same author or multiple volumes, you'll use a mixture of hanging indents and in-text references to specify which references should come before any others of the same type.
