When marking or annotating a book you should?

When marking or annotating a books, you should:

- Use light pencil (or sticky notes) so the book can erased easily.

- Be systematic in your markings so that you can find the information you need easily.

- Use abbreviations and symbols to save time.

- Don't overdo it.

- Include date, page number, source and/or your initial.

- Highlight information that relates to your area of interest.

- Avoid highlighting more than 20% of a text on a single page as it leads to the phenomenon known as "over-highlighting".
