As I descended, heart in choke,
Through layers of torment, dark and vast,
Where souls were chained, their futures cast.
In circles deep, the damned did wail,
For sins they wrought, their pleas would fail.
A tyrant's wrath, a lover's scorn,
Each soul condemned, by fate forlorn.
A river of fire, a crimson tide,
Where souls were cleansed, their sins defied.
The air grew thin, a breath of hope,
As I ascended, on a steep slope.
In realms of light, where angels trod,
A symphony of peace, a gift from God.
The air grew sweet, a fragrant breeze,
As I beheld, the sacred trees.
A garden fair, where flowers bloom,
And souls reborn, escape their doom.
They walked in grace, their spirits free,
No longer bound, by misery.
And then, I saw, a shining light,
A throne of gold, where angels alight.
A voice divine, a gentle sound,
As I knelt down, on hallowed ground.
For I had seen, the depths of hell,
The trials of purgatory's spell.
And in the end, I found my way,
To paradise, where souls would stay.
So I returned, with heart ablaze,
To share the tale, of all I'd gaze.
For in this journey, I had found,
The strength to rise, on sacred ground.
