A symphony of life's expanse.
The nucleus, a sphere of might,
Prepares to split, bathed in soft light.
The chromosomes, a tangled thread,
Unwind and duplicate, instead.
Sister chromatids, side by side,
Joined at the centromere, they abide.
The spindle fibers, strong and keen,
Extend from poles, a guiding scene.
The chromosomes, now neatly lined,
Toward the poles, their fate aligned.
The cell membrane, it starts to pinch,
Dividing neatly, a vital clinch.
Two daughter cells, now born anew,
Identical copies, strong and true.
From single cell to myriad more,
Mitosis, life's eternal chore.
A cycle endless, a story untold,
Of growth and renewal, a tale of old.
