In Shushan's palace, a beauty untold,
Esther, a maiden, her story unfolds.
A Jewess in exile, with lineage concealed,
Yet her heart held courage, a spirit revealed.
A king's decree, a sinister plot,
To exterminate her people, their fate in a knot.
Mordecai, her cousin, a wise, loyal soul,
Prayed for deliverance, to make the king whole.
Esther, in silence, her fear she defied,
Her duty to her people, her purpose applied.
She entered the king's chamber, a risk she did take,
For her people's salvation, a stand she would make.
With grace and with wisdom, she pleaded her case,
Her identity revealed, in the king's embrace.
Haman, the villain, his plot laid bare,
Justice was served, with a merciful prayer.
The king, enlightened, saw the evil he'd done,
And granted Esther's plea, the battle was won.
The Jews were saved, their lives set free,
A testament to faith, for all the world to see.
So let us remember, this heroine bold,
Esther, the queen, whose story is told.
A reminder of courage, in times of despair,
To rise to the challenge, with faith and with prayer.
