How many of the poems Emily Dickinson were published while she was alive?

Emily Dickinson published only a handful of her poems during her lifetime. It's estimated that she wrote around 1,800 poems, but only around 10 were published in newspapers and magazines.

It's important to remember that this is a very small number compared to the vast amount of poetry she created. The majority of her poems were discovered after her death in 1886, and were published by her family in 1890.
