Basic Format:
Author, A. A. (Year, Month Day). *Title of article*. Fox News. [URL]
Example:
Smith, J. (2024, March 8). *New study reveals surprising findings on climate change*. Fox News. https://www.foxnews.com/article-about-climate-change
Points to Note:
* Author: If the article doesn't list an author, use the name of the organization (Fox News) in the author position.
* Year, Month, Day: Use the date the article was published.
* Title of article: Capitalize only the first letter of the first word and proper nouns in the title. Italicize the title.
* Fox News: This is the source name.
* URL: Include the complete and accurate URL. Avoid shortened links.
If there's no author and you use Fox News as author:
If the author is not listed, the citation will start with "Fox News," which should be handled like an author's name:
Fox News. (2024, March 8). *New study reveals surprising findings on climate change*. Fox News. https://www.foxnews.com/article-about-climate-change
Important Considerations:
* Accuracy: Double-check all information for accuracy before submitting your paper.
* DOI: If the article has a DOI (Digital Object Identifier), use the DOI instead of the URL. DOIs are more permanent and less prone to change. The format with a DOI is:
Author, A. A. (Year, Month Day). *Title of article*. Fox News. https://doi.org/xxxxxxxxx
* Retrieval information: While not strictly required in the seventh edition of APA, some instructors may prefer you add retrieval information if there's a significant chance the URL might change in the future. This information would be added within square brackets at the end: [Retrieved Month Day, Year]. For example: [Retrieved March 15, 2024]
Remember to always consult your instructor's guidelines, as specific requirements may vary. They may also prefer a different citation management software or style guide.
