The Newseum, sadly, closed its doors in 2019. However, they previously held the
"First Newspaper" in their collection, which was
"Publick Occurrences Both Forreign and Domestick." This publication was printed in Boston, Massachusetts, on
September 25, 1690, and was the
first newspaper published in the British American colonies.
The Newseum's collection included a facsimile of this historic newspaper, and it was a key part of their "Making of a Nation" exhibit. While the Newseum itself is closed, you can still find information about this early newspaper and other historical publications online.
