Who invented the first pulp paper plant and newsprint?

The first pulp paper plant was invented by Friedrich Gottlob Keller in 1844 in Germany. He used wood pulp to make paper, which was much cheaper than the traditional method of using cotton or linen rags. The first newsprint was produced in 1867 by William Henry Mills in Canada. He used a mixture of wood pulp and groundwood pulp to make a paper that was suitable for printing newspapers.
