Who invented paper and from what country?

The invention of paper is generally attributed to Cai Lun, a Chinese court official and eunuch, who lived during the Eastern Han dynasty (25–220 CE). Cai Lun is credited with developing a process for making paper from plant fibers, specifically the bark of mulberry trees, hemp, and rags. He presented his invention to the Chinese emperor in 105 AD, and it quickly gained popularity in China. However, there is evidence that paper-like materials were already in use in China before Cai Lun's time, and some scholars believe that he may have improved an existing process rather than inventing it from scratch.
