In lord of the flies what discovery do they make at ledge that excites jack in chapter 6?

In "Lord of the Flies" by William Golding, Jack, the leader of the less organized group, discovers a cave at Castle Rock that is both large and safe from the outside world. This cave excites him because it provides numerous possibilities, including a place for rituals and ceremonies, and more importantly, a location where they can hide from any potential "beast."
