What the true story of calypso sea goddess?
Calypso is not from the original Greek mythology, but instead from the works of the roman poet Ovid, who wrote about her in his epic poem _The Metamorphoses_, written around 8 BCE. According to the poem, Calypso was the daughter of the Titan Atlas, and was ruler of the island of Ogygia. Calypso falls in love with the Greek hero Odysseus, and promises him immortality if he will stay with her on the island. However, Odysseus refuses to stay, and in revenge Calypso turns him into a pig. Odysseus is later freed by the gods and returns to his wife and son in Ithaca.
