Who kills illura in Enchantress from the Stars?

In the book "Enchantress from the Stars" by Sylvia Engdahl, Illura is not killed by anyone. She is, however, taken to the Land Beyond the Mountains by Eret, who uses a power called "The Way" to transport her there.
