The first Marvel comic, Marvel Comics #1, was published in October 1939.
However, it wasn't called Marvel Comics at the time. It was originally published under the name "Marvel Comics" and featured the debut of the superhero "The Human Torch" and "Sub-Mariner".
The company was later renamed "Marvel Comics" in the 1960s.
