Who invented DC comics?

DC Comics wasn't invented by a single person, but rather evolved through a series of mergers and acquisitions. Here's a simplified timeline:

* 1934: Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson founded National Allied Publications, later shortened to National Comics Publications, which would eventually become DC Comics.

* 1937: Jack Liebowitz joined the company and became its publisher, playing a significant role in its growth and success.

* 1946: National Comics Publications was acquired by National Periodical Publications, which was owned by Jack L. Warner, the founder of Warner Bros.

* 1967: National Periodical Publications changed its name to DC Comics, taking inspiration from the initials of "Detective Comics", one of its most important imprints.

While Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson is credited with founding the company that would become DC Comics, it was a collaborative effort of many individuals over the years who contributed to its evolution into the iconic comics publisher it is today.
