When was Editorial Humor created?

Editorial cartooning dates to the 1830s when caricaturists in England and France began to portray politicians and social issues with exaggeration and humor. The early cartoons appeared in newspapers and journals and were often associated with political satire. During the 1840s and 1850s, editorial cartooning spread to the United States and became a common feature of American newspapers. Thomas Nast, a German-American cartoonist, gained prominence for his political cartoons during the late 19th century.
