What is the grade book for?

A grade book is a record of students' performance in a class. It's used by teachers to track assignments, grades, and overall progress throughout a course. This allows them to:

* Calculate grades: Easily determine a student's final grade based on weighted assignments, tests, projects, etc.

* Monitor student progress: Identify students who are struggling and those who are excelling.

* Provide feedback: Offer insights into student learning and areas for improvement.

* Communicate with parents/guardians: Share student performance data with parents/guardians.

* Support assessment: Inform teaching practices and curriculum adjustments.

Grade books can be physical (paper-based) or digital (using software or online platforms).
