Where did C.S. Lewis get his ideas for Narnia?

C.S. Lewis was inspired to write the Chronicles of Narnia by his own childhood experiences in Northern Ireland. The rolling hills and lush forests of the countryside reminded him of the magical lands he had imagined as a boy. He also drew inspiration from Norse mythology, Celtic folklore, and the Bible.
