Who established book of world records?

The Guinness Book of World Records was established by Sir Hugh Beaver, the managing director of Guinness Breweries in Ireland.

The idea came to him during a shooting party in 1951, when a debate arose about the fastest game bird in Europe. He realized that there wasn't a readily available source to settle such arguments, and he thought a book of records would be a great way to do so.

The first edition of the Guinness Book of World Records was published in 1955 and became an instant success.
