Casino was born in Brooklyn, New York City. He began his acting career in the early 1980s, appearing in small roles in films such as Raging Bull (1980) and The King of Comedy (1982). He also had a recurring role on the sitcom The Cosby Show (1984-1992).
In 2000, Casino landed his breakthrough role as Joey Bishop in the HBO series The Sopranos. He played the role for six seasons, until the show's end in 2007. Casino's performance on the show earned him critical acclaim, and he was nominated for two Emmy Awards.
After The Sopranos ended, Casino continued to work steadily in film and television. He has appeared in films such as Ocean's Thirteen (2007), The Taking of Pelham 123 (2009), and The Wolf of Wall Street (2013).
